Gibbs extends contract with Arsenal
After Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere comes the turn of another youngster Kieran Gibbs to extend his contract with Arsenal.
The England U-21 has signed a long term contract with the club.
Gibbs made his first team debut against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup in October 2007.
He made 21 first team appearances for the Gunners and played in the UEFA Champions League games as well.
Arsene Wenger was delighted with the development and said this on Arsenal's official website :
Kieran made such a great impact last season and the progress he made throughout the year was fantastic.
Kieran is an intelligent player with huge quality and he proved last season with his performances that he has great potential.
We’re delighted that Kieran has committed his future to Arsenal and we’re all excited to watch his future development at the Club
Other players who extended their contracts after the close of the season are Theo Walcott and Lukasz Fabianski.
