Rafael extends contract



18 year old,Rafael De Silva has extended his contract with Manchester United by 2 years which would keep him with the club until 2013.

The Brazilian has made 24 appearances this season with one goal and many many surges down the right with impeccable crosses and as expected Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted with his progress.

Ferguson spoke to the official website :
"Everyone at the club has been very impressed and excited by his first year as a professional,"

"His enthusiasm and the adventurous way he plays is typical of a Manchester United player and we are delighted that he has signed a new contract."


He arrived from Rio de Janiero in July and was part of Manchester United's rampant performance against Tottenham on Sunday.

He is also expected to be part of the team to face Arsenal in the semi finals of Champions League.

A player who has grown many strides in just one season was also a contender for the PFA Young player of the year where Ashley Young won the award.
