Sheffield take Hammers' Reid



Sheffield United have signed West Ham United's want away winger Kyel Reid on a free transfer.

He had been in and out of West Ham's squad for the time he started his professional career in 2006 as part of West Ham's youth system.

He's had loan spells at Barnsley,Crystal Palace,Blackpool and Wolves where most crucially he scored in the important game against Barnsley which clinched the title for them.

All three of the newly promoted clubs were keen to sign the player along with the relegated trio of Middlesbrough, Newcastle United and West Brom.

The former England U-19 has now signed for Sheffield on a permanent basis, penning a two year deal.
