Liverpool leave it late for the win

Injury time Yossi Benayoun goal took Liverpool to the top of the Barclays Premiership table.

Liverpool had been on a run of classic wins over bitter rivals, Manchester United and Aston Villa when they faced Fulham at Craven Cottage.Fulham had started to become nemesis for the top four clubs with their 2-0 win over Manchester United a fortnight ago.

The game looked to be heading for a nil nil end when substitute Israeli player,Benayoun provided the goal which would prove vital in the championship race.

Liverpool had been the dominant force but failed to convert the chances that they created. The reds hit the woodwork on four occasions in the first half and continued to rue chances in the second half as well.

Liverpool are now not only on a winning run but also have scored 10 and conceded 1 in their last three league games.

Manchester United play tomorrow against Villa and they have two games in hand.
