Earlier Porto had been disallowed from entering the competition on allegations of bribing referees and docked points in the domestic league. However that didn't stop them from winning the title by a huge margin.(read here)

The sanctions haven't been lifted yet by UEFA and any disciplinary action would apply from the next season instead of the 2008/09 season.

I'm glad for FC Porto. I don't think it will last long. Michel Platini said a few days ago that he's not happy that FC Porto is allowed in the Champions League again.

UEFA sure doesn't look good after rushing into the decision in the first place of kicking them out of the CL.

I know its only sending a wrong signal about UEFA's plans on crackdown on such incidents and Platini is only concentrating on big English clubs than all clubs.
