Portuguese Media : Welcome Queiroz

Carlos Queiroz is most likely to become general manager for Portugal.

Despite the offer of a pay rise at Old Trafford,Sir Alex's team man Carlos Queiroz is most probably the successor for Luis Felipe Scolari who left after Euro 2008 and took over at Chelsea.
Chairman of Portugal's football affairs had this to say,

"I am optimistic and I believe that this subject will be closed soon. I have spoken about mid-July but really it could be sooner.”

Queiroz has prior experience of managing national sides UAE and South Africa. He has been at Manchester United for a long long time and has been also linked as the man to replace Sir Alex when he finally retires but there has been no official talk on this issue.
His exit might see a different United side who is a link to stop the Ronaldo transfer from happening and man who motivates the team and has been credited with the water tight defense of Manchester United who conceded only 22 goals last season.

It's all sounding too difficult to go through that easily especially when Manchester United and their big-wigs are involved but really an experience of managing UAE and then South Africa and now Portugal, this would be a huge leap.Portugal would draw a lot of attention and limelight, would Queiroz come through?

This would be a tremendous shock for Manchester United. We have seen how he's credited with the defensive strengthening and also for motivating players during crunch half time moments.
Would he be able to replicate what Scolari achieved? That's my main question.

I hope Queiroz doesn't replicate what Scolari achieved in the last 10 months. Dismal results in the qualifying games for Euro 2008. A draw against Serbia at home? For a big team like Portugal it was not great.

Putting forward Nuno Gomes and Ricardo in goal- knowing they're not in the best shape. (Embarassing display of Ricardo in the Euro 2008 quarterfinal match). Queiroz can do much better. I'm sure he will not play favorites like Scolari.

Football is a funny game. You can't put one team over the other,so a draw against Serbia at home shouldn't be shocking.I don't find football results to be shocking but more or less deserved.
I don't really know of any forward or keeper to replace Nuno Gomes and Ricardo, any suggestions?
