Manchester City for a trip to Faroe Islands
Manchester City face Faroe Island side EB/Streymur in their UEFA Cup qualification rounds as announced today.
EB/Streymur is a very small club where their stadium has a seating capacity of only 1000 people, has only one stand and needs fences to prevent the ball from going behind into the sea.
The tie is supposed to take place on July 17 and both the clubs might decide on a different venue to hold Manchester City’s travelling fans. The venue being considered is the national stadium in Torshavn.
The second leg has been shifted from Manchester City Stadium to Barnley’s Oakwell ground because of problems to the pitch in Manchester after a concert.
This game marks the beginning of Mark Hughes’ reign at the club and is expected to be an easy visit considering the Faroe Island side are ranked 193rd in the 199 list of clubs in Europe as per FIFA rankings.
